Potted Herbs

Last week I bought pots of thyme and parsley to use in the kitchen. I want them to live outside but I had to bring them in today as the wind was hammering the poor things. Now, hopefully, they will survive a little longer.

Green Mash

Green mash is an excellent alternative to mashed potatoes. I make it by cooking a mix of cauliflower and broccoli, adding salt, a knob of butter and dash of milk, then blitzing with the hand blender. So quick and so delicious. My Sunday lunch today - sirloin with peppers and green mash - was excellent.

Lost Dog Found

A few days ago I saw this lost dog notice on an internet message board. Yesterday, quite by chance, I saw a "found dog" notice on a Facebook page and made the connection. I contacted the owner and heard today that it was the right dog. She is well (despite over a week alone on the mountain and travelling all the way from Constantia Neck to the city bowl) and very happy to be home. It's so nice to have been able to help, and hooray for the internet!
