Louisiana Iris

After spending several hours this evening looking at the photos Michele and I took yesterday I have a bad case of camera envy. Michele's new Fuji HS10 takes amazing pictures. [Guest photographer: Michele]

  1. Wow... with shots like that, I would also have camera envy, Helen. I love those water droplets!

I had a look at the Fuji HS10 when we were searching for a new camera, and was very impressed by its specs (apparently, the zoom has a 35mm equivalent of 24-720mm, which is HUGE! [http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/fujifilm_finepix_hs10_review/]), but I didn't much like the feel of the manual zoom. Now that I have a DSLR, which HAS a manual zoom, though, I really prefer that to the slower, electronic zooms.

  2. Michele is happy with it, although as you note, it is different than a point&shoot. As you've probably also found with your DSLR she needed to learn how to 'drive' it. But once one's got the hang of it there's no going back I hear. Maybe one day I'll upgrade too.
