False Bay Day

I left the house this morning (first time since Wednesday). We went down to the False Bay coast... swam at Clovelly and Simon's Town, looked at Kalk Bay Harbour, visited a friend in St. James. It was a perfect warm, still summer's day.

Last night the cold snap we're experiencing this week intensified - it was freezing cold, the rain came down hard and there was even snow on the mountain. The local news sites had lots of pictures. I love reading about extreme weather!

There was a strange orange-pink light in the sky when I got up this morning. Sure enough, in a couple of hours it was got really cold and started raining. Winter's back.

Just as we were leaving Table View (friends' lunch at Michele's) there was a short break in the bad weather, and these rainbows appeared. An hour later there was thunder and lightning and it was bucketing down again.

Downpour

The first hard rains of winter arrived today. The drains outside our offices couldn't cope and the water came flooding in. Also, we had several leaks from the roof and had to get the buckets and mops out. Got to get some repairs done as soon as the weather improves.
